That’s why tubeless tires have become so popular in recent years – by eliminating the weight of the tube, you can save up to two hundred grams per wheel!
But if you’re running carbon wheels, then finding a good tape to seal the rim can be a real challenge. Most tapes are too thick and cause excess drag, or they don’t stick well to carbon fiber and eventually peel off.
I’ve tried several different tapes over the years and have finally settled on one that I believe is the best option for carbon rims.
